FAQ

Welcome to the FAQ! Here, you'll (hopefully) get answers to all of your big questions. If you have a question that you feel should be addressed here, you can send me a friend request on Gamejolt and PM me! Or, you can message me on Discord. (@polysmg2)

I also want to preface that I don't mean to be harsh towards the original writing. Here in the FAQ, there will be a lot of criticism sprinkled in to better explain why things are the way that they are. In no way am I trashing on the games or lore or Cyan himself, this is all in good faith! But, I also intend to be honest with what I think.

Q: Where is Yoshi? Luiginette?

Unfortunately, these two have been entirely removed and replaced from the series. This was the hardest pill for me to swallow, eh... more so Yoshi, but I digress.

I've removed them for their own good reasons. Yoshi as a whole was removed and replaced with Princess Peach, due to her whole shtick being a baker in FNAS canon. I felt like it would be very easy to cleanly replace her with Peach, as being a baker is HER whole shtick in Mario canon. Besides, I thought it would be nice to give Mario a closer relative, just as Sonic has Tails. That's his girlfriend!!! Let him be happy, I say!

In Luiginette's case, however, I felt like things... NEEDED to be changed. Sorry to be critical, but I think Luiginette as a character is just a... not good idea? He was created to honor the alleged passing of Luigi after FNAS 1, and is designed to be... creepy, lanky, and with blood red tears and hollow eyes??? I think that's quite disrespectful, to be honest. Even disregarding THAT detail, Luiginette doesn't do very much. Regardless, Luiginette was replaced with a Toy Blaze, who I picked for maximum diversity in FNAS:RV 2. Diversity is the whole reason Toy Tails is a gal after all!

Q: Where is FNAS4:HE?

FNAS 4: Halloween Edition is the only retconned game in Red Valley.

The inclusion of this game in the canon lore really just adds nothing to the story. In concept, it's cute, but I also feel like it could very much stay a spin-off. Regardless of my personal bias against that choice, Halloween Edition is nothing more than an afterparty that ties the story in a wholesome little bow. Here in Red Valley, things don't just end after RockClones, which is my bigger reasoning for discarding this game entirely in the AU.

Q: Will FNAS:RV get its own game series?

That is what I would LIKE to happen, however...

First of all, with the way the story's developed over time, the series would have to span across other genres aside from the usual sit-and-survive playstyle. That, and making games in general, is WAY out of my skillset. If the AU COULD be turned into a game series, I would do it in a heartbeat, but I just don't think it's realistic as it stands now.
